Knowing Your Fisherman
The Mutch family is third generation fisher folk. We spend our winters in town on Kodiak island and the summers out harvesting wild Alaskan salmon. Our family is involved in fisheries year round, but the summer salmon run is when we get to all come together.
We love being able to connect directly with the people who consume our seafood we worked so hard to harvest. All of our frozen seafood is traceable back to the fisherman who harvested it from the sea.

Harvesting
Kodiak Fish Co. sockeye salmon is harvested at Outlook Cove by the Mutch family. Most of these salmon come from the Karluck River. At Outlook Cove we harvest salmon by set net gill netting. This method involves our fishing gear being attached to land and harvesting the seafood by running a skiff (small boat) along the net and picking the fish by hand.
Once we have your fish on deck, we immediately bleed and ice it to preserve the wildness for you.
Processing
All of our seafood is processed at Wild Source, a custom seafood processor in Kodiak, Alaska. Wild Source does a fantastic job carefully processing your seafood.
Shipping
Most of our seafood is delivered frozen by overnight shipping. We keep the seafood frozen with insulated packaging and reusable ice-packs.
